Segala invited to speak at seminar for Irish Design For All Network (IRL-DeAN) in Dublin, Ireland
Date: 6th of September 2006
Venue: Regency Airport Hotel, Dublin
Segala's web accessibility expert and contributor to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Working Group, Sorcha Moore, has been invited to present "Moving from WCAG 1.0 to WCAG 2.0 - Implications of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines" at IRL-DeAN "Web Accessibility & Promoting Design for All" seminar in Dublin, Ireland.
The W3C accessibility guidelines are rapidly gaining worlwide acceptance as the standard for Web accessibility. They have been used as the basis of several international governmental standards such as the American "Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998 Section 508" and the Australian "AusInfo Guidelines for Commonwealth Information Published in Electronic Formats".
This seminar will give participants the opportunity to learn about what is involved with the new WCAG 2.0 guidelines, and to discuss their implications.
The event will include presentations from Donal Rice, ICT Accessiblity Co-Ordinator, Public Services Accessibility Initiative National Disability Authority on the new NDA IT Accessibility Guidelines, and Dr. Pier Luigi Emiliani, Director of CNR (Italian National Research Council) IFAC (Institute of Applied Physics "Nello Carrara") and President - CNR Florence Area, on a new EU initiative aimed at promoting design-for-all in Europe.
"Web Accessibility & Promoting Design for All" will take place on the 6th of September, in the Regency Airport Hotel, Dublin. Please contact Hugh O'Neill, IRL-DeAN Co-ordinator, if you wish to attend - email honeill [at] crc [dot] ie.
