Segala Helping to Shape the Future Mobile Web

Revolution found the O2 accessibility story compelling enough to feature it as a cover story, spanning 7 pages in total.
This helps to emphasize the trust O2 placed in Segala to help protect its brand through the accessibility certification programme that Segala was exclusively contracted to setup and manage.

, the mobile operator has kicked off an £8.5m as campaign to promote its i-mode mobile internet service; its biggest budget since it broke free from BT in 2001. Segala was awarded the exclusive contract to create and manage the accessibility certification programme.
The portal, which attracts 3.8 million unique visitors a month and is the most popular of the mobile operators, is one of O2's key sales channels, contributing more than 60 per cent of online sales. By committing to accessibility guidelines, O2 hopes to widen its audience and boost revenues, but also offer a better online experience.
With competition in the UK mobile market fiercer than ever, winning new customers and keeping existing ones happy is fundamental. O2 is investing in more staff in its shops and call-centres to improve customer service, but for those who choose to interact through its site, accessibility is essential to ensure no one is excluded.
The O2 UK portal is scheduled to launch in Q1 2006.
